1. Currently, the primary source of energy worldwide is fossil fuels. Fossil fuels include oil, gas, and coal. According to statistics, over 80 percent of the world's energy comes from fossil fuels. However, there are significant issues associated with fossil fuels. One major problem is that burning fossil fuels releases pollutants into the air. Also, extracting fossil fuels from the Earth often causes significant environmental damage. Another issue is that fossil fuels are finite, and we are running out of them. Therefore, it is important to seek alternative energy sources.

2. One major source of energy for many countries is nuclear power. Thirty-one countries use nuclear power, and many ships also rely on it. Nuclear power has some advantages. Firstly, it is not exhaustible like fossil fuels. Secondly, nuclear power does not pollute the air. Additionally, if a country uses nuclear power, it does not need to buy as much oil from other countries.

3. However, there are also many drawbacks to nuclear power. For instance, nuclear accidents can be very serious. In 1986, there was a nuclear accident in Ukraine, leading to around 4,000 deaths over the next 20 years. In 2011, another severe nuclear accident occurred in Japan, and the country is still dealing with the nuclear waste from that accident.

4. There have been widespread protests against nuclear energy in many countries, including the United States, Russia, France, Taiwan, Japan, and India. Many people believe that nuclear power is not safe and advocate for safer, cleaner methods of generating electricity.

5. Despite the opposition, more countries are turning to nuclear energy. One reason for this is the increasing global demand for energy. We do not have enough fossil fuels to meet this demand. However, relying on nuclear power could lead to more serious problems in the future.
